I stayed with my family at Swissotel Al Maqam for four nights. Overall, it was a excellent experience right from the check-in. Enas, who assisted us with the check-in process made it really quick, easy and made us feel comfortable after our long flight and road journey to arrive at the hotel. The buffet breakfast and dinner are great with lots of food variety and great servers. The place is just steps away from the Masjid Al Haram with dedicated elevators to provide quick and easy access to Haram. The only problems I faced were: room had a weird smell which didn't go away even after lots of air-freshener spray by the housekeeping staff, the checkout desk was busy and the gentlemen at the checkout desk was a bit rude due to rush (and perhaps fasting), and people not following line to be served. However, considering all the positive things, I would ignore these little issues and would consider this place again for our next Umrah trip.

Best decision is choosing this hotel for our Umrah trip with a 9yo and 3yo, as the hotel has its own elevator that goes directly to masjidil haraam, thus we don’t have to wait or share with the other hotels in the zamzam tower. With kids, this makes ALL the difference. Breakfast were lovely, the staffs were all very accommodating and went beyond our expectations when I asked the breakfast to be changed to a room service one day. Also, we got early check in as a complimentary and it was highly appreciated. I already recommended my friends and immediate family with kids to choose this hotel instead of the other ones for these reasons. When I come back for the next Umrah or Hajj, I will put Swissotel al Maqom as my first choice over and over again.
